Become a Certified Dyslexia Interventionist
Professional training that prepares educators, whether they are individuals or whole districts, to confidently deliver structured, evidence-based dyslexia intervention using the Take Flight® framework developed by Scottish Rite for Children.
Through this two-year training program, you’ll gain the knowledge, instructional structure, and professional mentorship needed to help students with dyslexia become successful readers.

This Program is Designed For
Individual professionals and school districts who are committed to delivering effective reading intervention for students with dyslexia.
You may be a strong fit if:
You are an educator, therapist, reading specialist, or dyslexia interventionist
You want to develop deep expertise in structured literacy instruction
You are passionate about helping struggling readers succeed
You want to confidently teach students with dyslexia in small groups or one-to-one settings
You are interested in pursuing professional credentials such as CALT or CALP certification
You want structured guidance, mentorship, and a clear training pathway rather than learning through trial and error
The Future You Are Working Toward
Imagine walking into your intervention sessions with complete clarity about what to teach and how to teach it. Instead of questioning whether you are using the right strategies or sequencing lessons correctly, you understand how to deliver structured dyslexia intervention step by step. You can analyze reading errors, adjust instruction, and confidently support students who struggle to decode, spell, and comprehend written language.
As your knowledge grows, so does your impact. Students who once struggled with reading begin to gain confidence and make meaningful progress. At the same time, this level of specialized training can strengthen your professional credentials, open doors to leadership opportunities in literacy instruction, and increase your value as a reading specialist within your school or district.
A Training Program Designed for Real Classroom Impact

Supporting students with dyslexia requires more than general reading instruction. Educators need a clear understanding of structured literacy and how to deliver lessons that are systematic, explicit, and responsive to student needs.
The Dyslexia Interventionist Training Program at ReadWell Institute was designed to provide that preparation. Built around the structured literacy framework developed by Scottish Rite for Children, including the Take Flight® dyslexia intervention program, this training helps educators develop the knowledge and instructional skills needed to effectively support struggling readers.
Through ReadWell Institute’s training program, educators can also access more flexible training schedules, making it easier to participate while continuing their work in schools or intervention settings.
Participants receive guided instruction, practical application, and ongoing mentorship to implement dyslexia interventions with greater clarity and confidence.

During this phase, trainees begin implementing intervention lessons and developing confidence in structured teaching practices.
Year 2

This phase focuses on refining instructional decision-making and ensuring participants are fully prepared to implement dyslexia intervention independently.
Training Designed to Fit an Educator’s Schedule
The Dyslexia Interventionist Training Program is designed to work alongside the realities of a school calendar. While the program includes defined training sessions, ReadWell Institute also offers flexibility in scheduling to help educators and districts participate without disrupting their teaching responsibilities.
The first year includes three weeks of training together, followed by four additional training days within the same year. The second year includes one week of summer training and four additional days during the school year.
ReadWell Institute also offers a high level of scheduling flexibility whenever possible. Training dates can often be adjusted based on educator and district needs until the schedule is fully booked.
Resources, Support, and Mentorship
Participants receive comprehensive support throughout the training program.
This includes:
Structured coursework and seminars
Demonstration lessons and instructional evaluation
Guided feedback on lesson plans and teaching practice
Supervised teaching experience
Access to the Take Flight instructional framework
Ongoing mentorship throughout the program
The goal is to ensure participants are fully supported as they develop professional competence in dyslexia intervention.

Plus, Expanded Training Pathways
Participants may also engage with additional structured literacy programs developed by Scottish Rite for Children, including:
BUILD® – expanding structured literacy knowledge
JET® – strengthening advanced instructional practices
Turbo Start® – accelerating early reading development
These programs allow educators to extend their expertise across multiple stages of reading instruction.
Two other curricula are important, too. They are Bridges (an alternative TF curriculum with an avatar for districts that don’t have time for the intensive two-year Take Flight program) and Write Idea (for dysgraphia and written expression). Lastly is Rite Flight, a fluency program for general education. I hope to offer Bridges and Write Idea soon.
Meet Your Mentor
Dr. Rebecca Gould is the Founder and Director of ReadWell Institute and has spent more than 28 years working in literacy education and dyslexia intervention.
Her passion for this work began early after watching her brother struggle with undiagnosed dyslexia at a time when effective intervention was not widely available.
That experience shaped her lifelong commitment to ensuring students with dyslexia receive the instruction they need to become successful readers.
Through ReadWell Institute, Rebecca trains educators to become highly skilled dyslexia interventionists capable of delivering structured literacy instruction with confidence and precision.
Her programs are built on clarity, structure, and mentorship — ensuring participants receive the guidance needed to develop true instructional mastery.
