About ReadWell

The Story Behind ReadWell Institute

ReadWell Institute was founded with a clear purpose: to prepare educators to deliver effective, structured dyslexia intervention that changes the trajectory of a student’s life.

For many students with dyslexia, learning to read is not simply a matter of trying harder. They require instruction that is explicit, systematic, and delivered by professionals who understand the structure of language and the science behind how reading develops.

Through our comprehensive training programs, educators and specialists learn how to provide structured literacy intervention that supports students with dyslexia and other language-based reading challenges. The goal is not only to provide knowledge but also to prepare professionals to confidently teach students who need the most skilled intervention.

Today, ReadWell Institute partners with both individual educators and school districts seeking to build stronger dyslexia intervention systems and expand the number of professionals trained to support struggling readers.

Who our programs are designed for

You may be here because you recognize that helping students with dyslexia requires specialized training and expertise.

You might be:

  •  A district leader working to strengthen dyslexia services across your schools

  •  A curriculum director or administrator seeking consistent intervention practices

  •  A teacher or reading specialist wanting deeper training in dyslexia intervention

  •  An educator considering certification as a dyslexia therapist

  •  A professional who is passionate about helping struggling readers succeed

If you are responsible for supporting students with dyslexia, you already know that effective instruction requires both knowledge and structure. (Note: Many people who join the TF suite of courses are regular teachers or parents who

have struggling readers in their lives, not always those working with students with dyslexia (SWD).

ReadWell Institute provides the training pathway that helps professionals develop those skills with clarity and confidence.

Why This Work is Personal

Rebecca Gould understands the impact dyslexia can have on a student and their family.

Growing up, she watched her brother struggle with undiagnosed dyslexia at a time when structured, evidence-based intervention was not widely understood or available. The frustration and academic challenges he experienced left a lasting impression and shaped Rebecca’s commitment to literacy education.

That early experience ultimately led to a career focused on helping students learn to read and preparing educators to provide the intervention those students deserve.

Today, that same commitment drives the mission of ReadWell Institute: ensuring that educators are equipped with the knowledge, structure, and support needed to help students with dyslexia succeed.

What Makes ReadWell Institute Different

01.

DIRECTOR-LED TRAINING & MENTORSHIP

At ReadWell Institute, training is led directly by experienced dyslexia professionals who guide participants through each stage of the learning process. Educators receive structured guidance, clear expectations, and consistent mentorship as they develop the skills required to teach students with dyslexia effectively.

02.

A PROVEN INSTRUCTIONAL FRAMEWORK

The training follows the structured literacy framework developed by Scottish Rite for Children, including the Take Flight® intervention program and related instructional supports. This approach ensures educators are learning a system designed specifically to support students with dyslexia.

03.

IMPLEMENTATION, NOT JUST COURSEWORK

Participants don’t just learn the theory behind dyslexia intervention. They apply what they learn through demonstration lessons, supervised teaching experience, and detailed feedback that strengthens their instructional decision-making and classroom confidence.

04.

FLEXIBLE TRAINING FOR EDUCATORS

Professional training should work with the realities of the school calendar. ReadWell Institute offers flexible scheduling options that allow educators and districts to complete training while balancing classroom responsibilities throughout the school year.

I can wholeheartedly say she has changed his life!

"Dr. Gould has been working with Joseph for almost two years now, and I can wholeheartedly say she has changed his life! He went from being unable to read simple words or even attach the correct sounds to letters to reading on grade level. I truly cannot believe the change that I have seen in his self-confidence, love for learning, eagerness to go to school, and especially his passion for reading. I actually found him the other day, snuggled up with a book, reading for pleasure! I never thought that day would come for him, but it brings tears to my eyes to say that, through Dr. Gould, it has. I will forever be grateful for the change she has brought to Joseph's life. Starting Joseph in her program is one of the best things we have ever done for him! Thank you, Dr. Gould!"
